Composite doors are specifically manufactured with security in mind. Unlike UPVC doors composite doors can stand strong during crowbar and ramming attacks.
What are composite doors made of?
Composite doors as the name suggests are made of a mixture of layers of the tough materials such layers of dense plywood is piled on top of a solid core steel plate. The outer thick layer is made of toughed and a durable layer made of glass reinforced plastic which is stronger and water resistant than a wooden surface. Standard composite doors have the solid core which is usually made of strong and dense polyurethane foam. More expensive composite doors have an added steel reinforcement panel placed at the core of the door for added strength against hammers and ramming raiding attacks. Composite doors are effectively one solid piece single body door. Composite doors are to be attached directly to a steel reinforced UPVC frame.
